TFN 2024 Schedule

MONDAY

After you arrive at PDX and catch a ride on the shuttle (or drive yourself) to Bingen, you’ll check into the hotel (at 4:00) and then we will kick things off with a social/hugging hour, followed by a welcome/run down with Posy and Jenna. After a dinner break, we will jump right into the good stuff with a panel discussion that will get us all in the right state of mind for the next few days of work.

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY

Both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings we will be splitting into two groups for intimate workshops (described below). Every attendee will get to participate in both mini workshops on alternating days.

After lunch, which we will have together, we will take time to work on different content creation assignments including taking headshots, making reels, and drafting newsletters and blog posts. There will also be hands-on demos on headshot posing, off-camera flash and lifestyle branding work.

Late afternoons will feature panel discussions in which our panelists will give mini talks on various topics (listed below) followed by small group breakout discussions where you’ll have the opportunity to dig deeper with the panelist of your choice.

Evenings will be open for free time, firepit hangs, hot tubbing, or spontaneous games of Heads Up.

  • The very function of social media is in the name -- SOCIAL! Yet, for many creatives, this is the most challenging part of marketing. It's time to start thinking differently about social media by focusing less on using it to 'get the word out' about your brand and focusing more on how to position your brand as a go-to community and resource for your ideal audience.

You'll learn how to do just that during this social media strategy & content planning session, where we'll break down how to think bigger about how to use social media as a strategic tool to boost brand loyalty and cultivate a genuine online community for your brand rooted in the shared values, interests, and points of view of your audience.

    During this session, we'll discuss:

    • How to harness your unique point of view & communication style to master strategic storytelling

    • How to create a simple, repeatable, and effective content plan that is easy to implement and engaging for your audience

    • How to frame and format your content to compel & engage your audience

  • As a human with strong, progressive core beliefs, dedicating my business to serving my communities, LGBTQ folks and BIPOC, happened organically. In the early years of my photography career, I jumped into learning as much as I could and found myself feeling unsafe within the predominantly White heteronormative photography industry. I knew that if I was feeling this way as a photographer, folks within my communities must be struggling to find a photographer they could connect with to share their story. So, I leaned into being transparent about who I am online to let folks know that I welcome and celebrate a diverse client base. What started as my way of life became sharing my core beliefs on my website, as well as using inclusive language on my website, in my CRM and emails, and when conversing with clients. At TFN ‘24, I am looking forward to sharing how these techniques attract ideal clients and repel those that are not a good fit. Together, we will work closely on updating your online presence (website, social media, client emails, etc.) to highlight your beliefs and values and update your copy to be inclusive. I truly believe that prioritizing inclusivity in these ways fosters connection with clients, allowing us to really see them, do our best work and provide them with images that are a true representation of who they are.
