Posy Quarterman
Born in Staten Island, NY, and raised in Portland, Oregon, Posy is a mover and a shaker, a fiercely devoted friend, and a travel addict, with a lifelong love of documenting people just as they are. She briefly attended art school in NYC, but returned to the Pacific Northwest to study criminal justice and work in the criminal defense world. Despite loving that work, in 2007, after becoming a mother, Posy decided to try make a go of this photography thing. Over the last fifteen years she has worked tirelessly to build a thriving family photography business in her beloved city. Posy knows the difference between show and substance, and if "authentic" has become nothing more than an internet buzzword, then she wants to reclaim it. Posy is not interested in fanfare or bullshit. She is interested in people, social justice, teaching, big earrings, and ultimately, telling people's stories with truth and heart.

The Family Narrative was conceived and founded in 2016 by Annemie Tonken, Kate Thompson and Posy Quarterman
From 2017-2023 The Family Narrative was run by Posy Quarterman, Annemie Tonken, and Kate Thompson. We hosted our final conference as a trio in March 2023 with The Family Reunion in Palm Springs. Going forward, The Family Narrative (2.0) will be hosted by Posy, with help from the incredible community we’ve built over the last seven years, and occasional phone calls of encouragement from Annemie and Kate. #bossladiesforlife
