TFN 2026 Schedule
Here’s what we’ve got in the works for our time together, keeping in mind that things could shift a little here and there. But this should give you a good idea of what we’re planning. We will provide a more detailed schedule to attendees as the retreat approaches.
Monday
The retreat will get started 4pm on Monday with attendee check-in and a fun ice-breaker exercise to get everyone acquainted. We know some people dread ice-breakers but we promise our attendees end up raving about ours!
After a dinner break, we will meet back up on the Capri lawn for an Opening Night gathering with Arielle Estoria’s keynote to kick things off and set the tone for our time together.
Tuesday
We will start the day with a fun art class led my beloved member of our community (gonna keep you guessing on that one) to get our creative juices flowing. We will then dive into Nicki Sebastian’s very personal, moving talk: In the Wake of What Matters: How Illness and Stillness Led Me to the Heart of My Work.
Having been cracked open (in a good way) by Nicki, we will have lunch together, either in small groups or all in one place (tbd). After lunch we will dive into a writing workshop with Arielle Estoria, followed by a photo assignment with Nicki to tie it all together.
We will end the day back at the Capri after dinner for an evening activity designed to decompress from a very full, very emotional day.
Wednesday
After a fun group photo on the lawn at the Capri, we will get things going with another creative art activity. We will then spend much of the day with Max and Margaux Wanger who will pull back the curtain to share the ups and downs of running a photography business together and how to let go, adapt, and build a career that grows with you.
We will also bring back our “Family Meeting” which attendees found invaluable at our 2025 gathering. Think of it as part group therapy, part crowd-sourcing and part community building.
After a dinner break, we will let loose with an epic pool party back at the Capri!
Thursday
Our final morning will start with another creative art activity followed by live sessions and headshots. We’ll wrap up our time together with a big group lunch, final Q&A and, of course, a round of I Just Have to Say (iykyk). We will hug it out and say our goodbyes at 2:00 on Thursday.

This intimate and heartfelt talk is a reflection on how a cancer diagnosis radically transformed my relationship to photography—and to life. What began as a season of fear and loss became a gateway to presence, clarity, and truth. Through the stillness that illness demanded, I rediscovered film—not just as a medium, but as a way of seeing. Slowing down became sacred. Letting go became a form of trust. And each frame became a place to pour my soul.
This is a story of grief and growth, surrender and awakening—an invitation and a grant of permission that you too can find deeper meaning in your work without needing a wake-up call. My hope is that this session leaves attendees both cracked open and grounded, inspired to create from a place of intention, intuition, and truth. -
Max and Margaux will share the ups, downs, and lessons learned from over 15 years of running a freelance photography business. From Max being named one of the top wedding photographers in the world, to building a thriving business with Picture Day, they’ll reflect on how their work—and life—has evolved. They’ll dive into creative pivots made by choice, others born out of necessity, and the dynamics of working together as a couple. Expect an honest look at how Picture Day, once a way to stay afloat, became the heart of their business—and how to let go, adapt, and build a career that grows with you.
