When & Where?

Mark your calendar for May 6-9, 2024

TFN 2024 will take place in the Columbia River Gorge at the Society Hotel in Bingen, Washington.

What?

Think adult summer camp, with purpose! Monday afternoon through Thursday morning will be filled with activities to instruct, inspire, and feed your family photography business, including actionable assignments and deliverables.

Specifically we will explore social media and marketing strategies, and create content on-site to fuel the second half of the year — there will be built-in break time to work individually, and in small groups, on building content for the upcoming busy season.

Additionally we will have group talks and panel discussions, hands-on demos and small group breakout sessions led by a handful of our incredible community members. Topics will range from giving your family photography business an inclusivity audit to unapologetic email writing , using off-camera flash like a boss, adding your unique value to your client experience, passive income and alternative money makers for slower seasons, showing up 360 (iykyk) and more. Oh there will be morning yoga in the sanctuary!

All tickets include:

  • Three nights at the Society Hotel (M-W) including access to the bathhouse - warm saltwater soaking pool, cold plunge, hot tub, cedar sauna, and massage services (for an additional fee).

  • Shuttle bus from PDX airport to and from The Society Hotel in Bingen, Washington on Monday/Thursday.

  • Lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday

  • Fun surprise group activities

  • Swag bag full of goodies

  • Immersion in our wonderful community

It can be very lonely to have photography as a business, and having support from other photographers who understand what you’re going through is something we can’t get from taking an online course. - Megumi Bacher

FAQs

What will my ticket to TFN include?

Two full days plus two partial days of hands-on learning, co-working, photographing, and inspiring each other in an intimate setting tucked away in a gorgeous corner of the Pacific Northwest.

Three nights at the Society Hotel (M-W) with access to the “bathhouse” - warm saltwater soaking pool, cold plunge, hot tub, cedar sauna, and massage services (for an additional fee).

Shuttle bus from PDX airport to and from The Society Hotel in Bingen, Washington on Monday/Thursday (specific timing for pickup and dropoff will be released by the end of the year).

Our legendary swag bags. Just because the size of the retreat has been cut in half, doesn’t mean Posy will be downsizing the thoughtful gifting she enjoys almost as much as the retreat itself!

Lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday and snacks for the shuttle ride back on Thursday. You are responsible for breakfast and dinner each day.

What will my ticket to TFN cost?

Tickets will range from $1950-$2250 depending on what rooming situation you select, and whether you choose to pay up front (early bird) or if you select a payment plan.

Do I have to pay all at once?

Yes and no. Early bird tickets will go on sale on July 14th at a discounted price of $1950 (for the shared king room) or $2150 (for the 2-queen cabin) but must be paid in full (all at once). On July 17th any remaining tickets will be sold at the full price of $2050 and $2250, with payment being due in two payments of $975 or $1125 (the second payment will be due October 15, 2023).

Do I need to book my own accommodations?

Nope! Tickets include a room at the Society Hotel in Bingen for Monday -Wednesday nights. If you wish to fly into Portland before Monday, or leave after Thursday, you’ll have to make your own accommodations for those nights!

What are the accommodation options?

We have two different room options available:

  • Shared King Room - This smaller, budget-friendly option is only for those willing to share a king bed with a friend. These private rooms feature a king bed, sink and vanity, and shared bathroom. (For these king rooms, there are several PRIVATE, individual bathrooms shared between the other rooms and accessible through the hallway.)

  • Shared Cabin with Two Queen Beds - These two-bedroom cabins will be shared with one other TFN attendee, each will have a private bedroom with a queen bed, shared kitchenette and bathroom to be shared with your cabin mate.

More details are available on the ticket page here.

Do I need to rent a car?

While a rental car is not a requirement - we will have a shuttle available from PDX to Bingen (and back) on Monday/Thursday - it might be nice to have a car while you’re there or, better yet, go in on one with a small group of friends!. Bingen is a gorgeous corner of the PNW and there are a handful of restaurants you can walk to from the hotel, and hiking a-plenty. There are more restaurants and shops in White Salmon, just under is just two miles away, so walkable (for most) weather-permitting. However, Hood River, the biggest town nearby, is just about a 10-min drive away, and full of great restaurants, cafes and breweries. Because you’re on your own for breakfast and dinner each day, a car might be really nice. We are also happy to help coordinate rides as needed.

Are there dining options at the hotel?

There is a cafe at the hotel open from 7:00am to 9:00pm with coffee drinks and a variety of yummy breakfast options as well as lighter fare, cocktails, beer and wine for later in the day. Here’s a link to their menu: The Society Hotel Cafe Menu

Are tickets refundable?

Tickets to TFN 2024 are non-refundable but they are transferable. If you purchase a ticket and can no longer attend, finding a buyer for your ticket is your responsibility.
